Miracles From Heaven

Miracles From Heaven:  A Little Girl, Her Journey to Heaven, and Her Amazing Story of Healing

Author:  Christy Wilson Beam
Publisher:  Hachette Books
Pages:  224
Audience:  Adults
Genre:  Christian Non-fiction/Autobiography

This is the true life story of a young girl, Annabel Beam, who spent much of her young life suffering with an incurable digestive disease.  From the very beginning of this book you will see that this remarkable young girl has such tremendous faith that goes beyond her young years.  Through all of her struggles Annabel remains steadfast in her faith in God even when pain and disappointment were present in her life.

One day, everything changes for Annabel as while laying with her sisters on an old cottonwood tree, she falls deep within its trunk with no way out.  The written depiction of the hours that went by while the Beam family faced this horrible situation is harrowing.  What occurs after Annabel’s rescue is a miraculous experience.  Mrs. Beam writes authentically that as the reader, I truly felt that I took this journey with the family.
This story touched me very much and reminded me of what Jesus said in Mark 10:15, ‘Truly I tell you, anyone who will not receive the kingdom of God like a child will never enter it.’

I recommend this book to everyone who needs encouragement in their faith and hope.  This faithful family will truly touch your heart.

Happy Reading!

Passion: Salvation's Tide Is Rising

Passion:  Salvation's Tide Is Rising Album

FlyBy Promotion has given me the great opportunity to review a music album this month.  The music album this month is Passion:  Salvation's Tide is Rising.

From the moment the first song started to play I was transfixed.  Each song that came after just got better and better.  I honestly do not have a favorite song because each one is so beautiful.  The featured artists on this album:  David Crowder, Matt Redman, Christy Nockels, and many others are wonderful; their voices’ resonating long after the song is over.  I have made this album a part of my worship time and music library because each song is filled with passion, love, truth, and light.  The songs are also safe for everyone in your family to listen to.

I wholeheartedly recommend that you add this album to your worship library.  This album definitely put passion into my worship time with the Lord and throughout my days.

The wonderful people at FlyBy Promotions have reserved a copy of this album for one reader of my blog to receive.  Click on the Rafflecopter giveaway link below to enter for a chance to win this album:

A Woman's Guide to Knowing What You Believe

A Woman’s Guide to Knowing What You Believe

Author:  Patty Houser
Publisher:  Bethany House Publishers
ISBN #:  0764217089
Pages:  224
Audience:  Adults (Women)

Ever gotten into a difficult conversation with someone about your faith?  The author, Patty Houser, writes this book outreaching to women of faith about how to have dynamic faith and how to have dynamic faith and how to communicate this faith to others.  Ms. Houser also poses the question that most women know what they believe; however, can women remain grounded in their faith when they are challenged by another?

The author first calls women to examine their beliefs.  I understood what the author was displaying with this call because knowing what exactly we believe grounds us in our faith and how we communicate it to others.  Ms. Houser also shares how she would defend parts of the Bible if she were posed a question; for example, she illustrates that if she were to defend the resurrection she would use the Minimal Facts Approach and goes on to describe this approach.  I thought that her example was a good illustration of how we should respond to questions about our faith.

Overall, I thought that this book was interesting and made some great points about questions and responses about our faith.  I think this book is a helpful read not just in defending faith but also in communicating your faith in a conversational way that is informative and neutral.  If you are interested in reading a different approach to speaking about your faith, I would recommend this book.

Happy Reading!
