Laura Story has done it again; she has released a wonderful album!

Laura Story’s album Open Hands is a worship album filled with beautiful music and lyrics.  The songs on this album are so worshipful, giving worship to the Lord, giving comfort when we are hurting, and are reminders that God is with us always.  Laura’s voice is beautiful and the lyrics are so heartfelt and meaningful.

I absolutely love this album and cannot stop playing it!  The song Open Hands is a powerful song about giving all we have to God.  The song You Came Running is a great reminder that when we fell at our lowest, God will see us through. 

I definitely recommend this album to anyone’s worship music library.  You will love it!

Book Review: A Baxter Family Christmas

This is the first Karen Kingsbury book I have read and in my opinion Ms. Kingsbury is a wonderful storyteller!

Karen Kingsbury’s latest book is a continuation of the Baxter family story.  The Baxter family suffered a terrible loss of Erin Baxter Hogan, her husband, and three of their four children in a car accident two years ago.  Two years later, John Baxter, the patriarch of the family reaches out to the woman who received his daughter’s heart, Kendra Bryant, and invites her to Christmas dinner with his family.  John’s invite is met with mixed emotions within the Baxter family.  This invite causes division and conflicted feelings, with some of the family against meeting Kendra Bryant.  In another storyline, Maddie Baxter West, has a special prayer request and meaning this Christmas.

These characters are very relatable and their stories will touch your heart.  Karen Kingsbury brings their story to life so vividly.  This story tells of loss, love, and forgiveness.  I was sad that I reached the end of the book because I wanted to spend more time with this family.  I hope that Ms. Kingsbury writes more about this family in the future.

Book Review: When We Last Spoke

Take a trip to Fireside, Texas and you will want to stay there for more than ‘just a spell.’  The author, Marci Henna, tells the story of Juliet and Evangeline Cranbourne, two children being raised by their grandparents Walt and Ruby Cranbourne.  Walt and Ruby raise the girls with love and teach the girls the true meaning of family.  Throughout the trials they face in childhood, Juliet and Evangeline learn about family, strength, friendships, about forgiveness and healing.

Set in the late 1960’s, Marci Henna paints a picture of a small southern town equipped with a unique cast of characters.  Each character is well-developed and you won’t be able not to find each character endearing.  Personally, I fell in love with Fireside, Texas and its cast of characters.  I do hope in the future, Ms. Henna will deliver us more adventures of these characters.

I encourage you to pick up this book and take a trip to Fireside, Texas, where you will laugh, cry, and be entertained.

Mr. Adebiyi’s realization of not feeling fulfilled and his determination to not only discover his fulfillment but also his quest to aid others in discovering their own fulfilling callings.

I truly enjoyed Mr. Adebiyi’s story because it was so honest and sincere.  We all have found ourselves at a crossroads and need to journey forth in discovering what God has for us.

This book is an enjoyable book of one individual’s inspirational and faithful journey.  If you’re in need of some inspiration give this book a read.

Dutch Sheets has written a book that introduces and explains what intercessory prayer does and the role we play in prayer.  While this book may look intimidating, trust me, it is not.  Mr. Sheets writes with clarity and humor; he writes as if he is having a conversation with you.

Mr. Sheets explains the meaning and power of prayer.  He also is very honest about prayer and that when we pray the answer may not always be answered in the way that we want.  He also addresses the fact that the answer may not be immediate.  I really appreciated these statements because it signified the realness of his writing and true purpose of him imparting these truths of prayer and its meaning to the reader.

I would recommend this book to anyone interested in learning more about prayer.  This book is filled with a lot of in-depth information and will deepen and enrich your prayer life.

To Joey, With Love

I had the great opportunity by Icon Media Group to review the true life story of Joey and Rory Feek, in a biopic called To Joey, with Love.  Joey and Rory Feek were a country and Christian music duo since 2008.  For many years Joey and Rory Feek blessed us all with their music.  This is their story, of their love, their faith, and their life.

In 2014, Joey and Rory had put the music scene on hold temporarily to launch a new adventure, the birth of their baby girl, Indiana.  Shortly thereafter, Joey was diagnosed with cancer.  This touching biopic was put together by Rory Feek as well as narrated by him.  It documents their life from before the birth of baby Indiana throughout Joey’s fight with cancer.

I watched this biopic as a person who didn’t know very much of the Feeks.  I can honestly say that this movie is powerful and moving.  Joey and Rory’s faith impacted me greatly and their example of tremendous and strong faith will stay with me forever.  The Feek family will forever be in my prayers. 

I would recommend seeing this moving dedication to a great and talented woman and family.

Just in time for Christmas, Amy Grant has released a new Christmas album!

Amy Grant’s Tennessee Christmas album is quite the treasure to listen to during this Christmas season.  This album is a mix of old country favorites such as Tennessee Christmas and popular favorites such as White Christmas, Joy to the World, and my favorite O Come, All Ye Faithful.  The song To Be Together is a wonderful addition to the album.

If you are looking for something new to listen to this Christmas, I would recommend this album.  Amy Grant’s voice brings all the comfort, hope, and love into this season.
