The Passion Whole Heart Album is a powerful and uplifting album!  From the first song to the very last, the lyrics of these songs will touch your heart.  The beautiful and harmonious voices that sing each word is filled with passion and heartfelt emotion.  I truly got lost in this album and I replayed the album each time it came to an end.

This album made me joyful and made me emotional.  The lyrics are filled with the truth of God’s Word, love and goodness.  This is a wonderful praise album that had me singing all day and I believe it will have you singing as well.

Book Review: Promise of Peppermint

Promise of Peppermint

Author:  Valerie Comer
Publisher:  GreenWords Media
Pages:  111
Audience:  Women
Genre:  Fiction

Promise of Peppermint is the story of Rebekah, a young woman who is trying to deal with a painful past.  In the midst of Rebekah’s struggles enters Wade Roper, a past love who means very much to Rebekah, however, as much as she finds that she still loves Wade there is something that still standing in her way of admitting this.

Wade has loved Rebekah since the day he met her, however, their relationship fell apart four years ago and as much as he still loves her, Wade wonders what tore their relationship apart.

I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book.  Valerie Comer creates such vivid and rich characters that are full of depth, with struggles that are relevant to us all.  The message of this book about trusting God and letting go of fear is told so well through this cast of characters.  I honestly did to want this book to end and I found out that this book is the prequel to her Urban Farm Fresh book series and I am happy that these characters’ stories go on in other books.

I recommend that you pick this book up.  The message of trust, faith, and love will leave you feeling hopeful.

Happy Reading!

Book Review: Just Another Girl Story

Just Another Girl’s Story
A Memoir of Finding Redemption

Author:  Laura Eckert and Shawn Eckert
Publisher:  Createspace Independent Publishing Platform
Pages:  240
Audience:  Adults
Genre:  Memoir

Just Another Girl’s Story is the true story of Laura Eckert.  Laura shares the story of her life and the challenges that she went through and the strength of her faith.  Laura’s touching story teaches us that our decisions do not define who we are; our trials can serve as lessons that make us stronger.  Laura’s story is inspiring in that it is a true testament to how God loves us even when we find it difficult to love ourselves.

Laura writes her story with such honesty.  Laura’s story of redemption comes with heartache and joy and will definitely resonate with anyone who has experienced their own journey to redemption.  Laura is an example of not giving up on your faith and seeking the life that God envisioned for you to be.  I recommend that Laura’s story be read.

Merry and Bright by Debbie Macomber is about Mery who works for Jayson Bright, a man who is not so jovial about the holidays.  Merry’s mother and brother decide they are going to surprise Merry by signing her up for an online dating site.  This surprise sends Merry on an adventurous search for romance where she learns not to judge a book by its cover.

Book Review: The Crooked Christmas Tree

The Crooked Christmas Tree

Author:  Damian Chandler
Publisher:  Faith Words
Pages:  144
Audience:  Adults
Genre:  Religion/Holidays/Christian

The Crooked Christmas Tree is the true life story told from a father’s perspective.  The story starts with the way many households start the holiday season, the picking of the family Christmas tree.  Mr. Chandler tells the story of how his children picked a crooked Christmas tree.  However, as Mr. Chandler and the reader will discover this is no ordinary crooked tree.
Mr. Chandler is set on a road of introspective discovery, set by a tree he didn’t want to begin with.  He writes about the lessons he learned through this tree; lessons of rejection, the Lord’s saving Grace, and how God loved us so much He sent His only son to earth to save us.  At Christmas, while the perfect Christmas tree is sought to adorn our homes, God sent His perfect son to save our crooked selves.

I really enjoyed reading this book.  Mr. Chandler highlights the true meaning of Christmas and how Jesus’ birth is the light that obliterates all our crooked pieces.

I recommend you read this book.  It is heartwarming and these lessons will live in your heart beyond this holiday season.

Happy Reading!

Book Review: The Paper Bag Christmas

The Paper Bag Christmas

Author:  Kevin Alan Milne
Publisher:  Center Street
Pages:  160
Audience:  Adults
Genre:  Fiction

The Paper Bag Christmas tells the story of Molar and Aaron, two young boys whose lives are changed one fateful Christmas.  Molar and Aaron meet a mall Santa Clause that sets the boys on a course of discovery of the true meaning of Christmas, with an intriguing promise of “a gift you never wanted for Christmas.”  The mall Santa Clause is really Dr. Christopher K. Ringle, who recruits the boys to spread holiday cheer to the children being treated at a hospital.

Two such children that Molar and Aaron meet are Mandhu and Katrina.  Mandhu is a bright and funny child who leads life with positivity and curiosity.  Through all that Mandhu faces, you see his courage and heart for others.  Katrina is a child who isn’t so positive and who struggles to connect with others.  These four children unbeknownst to themselves are set on a journey that impacts each other and those around them.

I can honest report that this story made an incredible effect on me.  I laughed and cried over these endearing characters.  Kevin Alan Milne has created a cast of characters that are unforgettable.  I have definitely made this book a permanent part of my library and one story I will read each Christmas.

I would recommend that you read this book this Christmas!  This story will not only touch your heart, it will also highlight the true meaning of the season!

Happy Reading!

Album Review: Kutless - Alpha/Omega

Kutless:  Alpha/Omega Album

Kutless’s newest album, Alpha/Omega is from start to finish a wonderful album!  From the moment that I started the album, I have not stopped playing it in its entirety.  The album starts with Your Great Name, which is a powerful praise song that I have begun my days to.  Each song on this album is a reminder of whom God is to us and is such a great worship album in this holiday season.

While I love each song on this album immensely, I have found myself playing Shepherd of My Soul over and over.  This particular is such a reminder that God loves us and shepherds us all the days of our lives.  I recommend that you get this album; you will love it!
