Best of All Gifts by Sheila M. Cronin is a wonderful gem of a story of a family that has faced tough times and the power of forgiveness and love.  Jonquil Bloom, a psychology graduate student is a gift counselor at a department store.  She has a young son, Billy, who is entertaining and the center of Jonquil’s world.  Jonquil faces challenges with past loss, anger, and trust issues.  This affects her relationship with her boyfriend, Claude, who adds much needed light and life into Jonquil and Billy’s lives.

Jonquil battles feelings of abandonment and anger that cause Jonquil to reflect and when she is faced with the object of her anger and abandonment issues, this is when Jonquil makes her ultimate character growth.

This is a well-written story with well-developed characters that will tug at your heartstrings.  Ms. Cronin knows how to tell a captivating and memorable story.  Best of All Gifts is a true gift for any time of year.  I recommend this book to anyone that wants to read a feel-good story about the love of family and how this love never ends.

Happy Reading!
