     Leadership By The Good Book is an inspirational read about leadership.  Mr. Steward and Mr. Mann write about the greatest and highest model of a leader:  Jesus.  The authors take you on the journey they started in creating their own company using Biblical principles as guidance.  Biblical teachings are related to several business situations that may arise within an organization.  Within these teachings are also the authors’ own examples of trials and lessons learned while creating the phenomenal business they have today.

 

     The authors are transparent in illustrating their hearts for the Lord, their obedience to His Word, and in caring and serving their customers and employees. This is a great read for any leader who is creating an organization and a guide to investing in people.

This Is How We Pray explores how we can initiate and grow a relationship with God through prayer.  Adam Dressler writes about how prayer brings us into a friendship relationship with God.  Prayer allows us to be truly ourselves with God and allowing God to further our relationship with him.  Mr. Dressler also explores the ways in which we may feel unable to communicate with God:  such as guilt, and distraction.  Mr. Dressler also explores the way in which we may feel that our prayers aren’t answered, our disappointments and worries.

Mr. Dressler is very engaging and relatable from the first page.  He documents his prayer journey and the very real struggles he has encountered.  Mr. Dressler writes with an honest and relatable voice.  Mr. Dressler writes about how God’s invitation to communicate with him in prayer is all we have to accept.  This was very sobering to read because so many times we can feel unworthy and that we are not perfect enough to communicate with God, which is not true.  God longs to hear from us.

I recommend this book to everyone.  Whether you are new to prayer or if you want to deepen your understanding of prayer, read this book.

A Sparkle of Silver

A Sparkle of Silver by Liz Johnson is a suspenseful read with a wonderful message of forgiveness.  Millie Sullivan is experiencing financial stress as she tries to provide good care for her grandmother in assisted living.  When hope seems lost, Millie decides to find out the truth of her great-grandmother’s past and possibly with that past a treasure that can save her grandmother.  Ben Thornton happens across Millie one day at the Chateau and from that moment on the two go on a wild hunt for a treasure. 

This story is intriguing and keeps you guessing.  The characters are endearing, and you will find yourself rooting for Millie and Ben from the beginning.  Ms. Johnson writes characters that are unforgettable and incorporates a wonderfully Godly message.
