Beverly Lewis’s, The Wish, is a wonderful story about faith, friendship, and family.  Leona Speicher and Gloria Gingerich are the best of friends. However, Gloria’s family moves away due to a conflict her father has with the Order.  Time passes, however, both girls still think of their friendship with fondness and Gloria reaches out to Leona.  Their reunion is bittersweet and fraught with conflict.  Beverly Lewis has created characters that are very real and you will find yourself becoming invested in their friendship and journey of faith.

This is a heartwarming story of how the bonds of friendship can give us strength and that faith is powerful.  This story reminded me that God works everything for our good and hears our prayers.  This story is also a reminder of the blessing of true friendship and love of family and fellowship.  God is always listening and with you every step of the journey you are on.

Pull It Off by Julianna Zobrist is an eye-opening read.  Julianna Zobrist, music artist, fashionista, and speaker writes about fears and where they come from.  With a vulnerable and wise voice, Mrs. Zobrist speaks from the heart of her own challenges with fear and how she met each challenge with her faith.  Mrs. Zobrist takes us on a journey into accepting who we are as God’s children, who He made us to be and accepting ourselves.

A few points that Mrs. Zobrist makes in this book I found to be very powerful.  She states that the power of our words can have a tremendous effect that can impact what we believe of ourselves.  Mrs. Zobrist also points out that we were the intention of God to fulfill a purpose He has ordained for each of us.  These are very important points for every woman to hear as through our journey through life, it is easy to forget Whose we are and how the power of our words can hurt us.

I recommend this book to every woman; whether you are young in your faith or have had your faith tested.  Julianna Zobrist speaks to the heart of every woman of faith with truth, honesty, and faith.  This book is truly inspiring!

Healing the Soul of a Woman by Joyce Meyer addresses many of the emotional wounds that women face.  Mrs. Meyer covers topics such as guild and shame, self-pity, codependency, and other emotional wounds.  At the center of each wound, Mrs. Meyer writes the truth of whose we are and the truth of how God wants us to live.

Mrs. Meyer made two great points in this book:  that we should not see ourselves as merely survivors because of the negative connotation it leaves behind and that we can receive “beauty from ashes.”  You were made new and strong in Christ.  God’s love for you removes your sin and makes you so much more than a survivor!

This book was truly inspirational to me.  The emotional wounds addressed are relevant to women and the words in this book will give you encouragement to everyone who is hurting.  I highly recommend this book!  This book serves as a great reminder that you are “fearfully and wonderfully made” (Psalm 139:14).  God loves you and will always be by your side.
