Book Review - You Are The Girl For The Job: Daring to Believe the God Who Calls You

You Are The Girl For The Job:
Daring to Believe the God Who Calls You

 Author:  Jess Connolly

Publisher:  Zondervan

Pages:  256

You Are The Girl For The Job:  Daring to Believe the God Who Calls You is a thought-provoking read on our God-given calling and purpose.  Jess Connolly points out the truth, straight from the Scriptures, of our purpose that is only found in God.  Ms. Connolly speaks about shame, self-doubt, and other fears that keep us from realizing and fulfilling our God-given purpose.  Ms. Connolly speaks very honestly and also is vulnerable in her own telling of moments in life where she struggled. Ms. Connolly writes with encouragement and wisdom; encouraging each reader that she is the girl for the job because God has enabled her to be.

I believe this book will have a positive impact on you.  I can say that after reading this book, I view differently when I encounter my own moments when I feel discouraged or fearful.  I remember the truths highlighted in this book and the negative perspective shifts.

I recommend this book to any woman who has ever doubted her abilities or is stuck in her fears that won't allow her to move forward.  This book will encourage you with the Truth of His Word and who God has created you to be.

Happy Reading!

Book Review: Reinvent: Start Fresh and Love Life!

Reinvent:  Start Fresh and Love Life!

Author:  Beth Jones
Publisher:  Faith Words
Pages:  240

Reinvent:  start fresh and love life! By Beth Jones is about reaching and embracing your God-given purpose and living the life God intended for you to live.  Beth talks about how we can reinvent ourselves to fulfill our calling in Jesus Christ.  Beth talks about how this can be done biblically by asking ourselves four questions:  What do you want?  What do you have?  What will you do?  And Why will you do it?

Beth takes you through each question in detail to help you answer the question.  At the end of each chapter Beth asks questions that help the reader develop the answers to the four main questions step-by-step.  Beth features Scripture that explain that Christ ‘sees our bigger picture.’  Each Scripture adds depth to the search for God-given purpose and meaning.

As I read this book, I did a lot of self-reflection.  The message that Beth conveys will also cause you to self-reflect and understand that God’s aim for our life is to live with purpose, and to be joyful within that purpose.  God has a vision for each of us and in our ever-changing lives, we will be reinvented because God always urges us to grow and He is the author of our bigger pictures.

This book will change the way you think about purpose – especially your God-bestowed purpose.  I also believe this book will also open your eyes to how much God cares about you, your purpose, and wants you to grow and be joyful while you serve Him.

Happy Reading!

The Audacious Molly Bruno by Marie Armenia is a true gift of a read.  Marie Armenia writes about her mother, a prayer warrior like no other.  The book depicts the tremendous faith and prayer life of a woman who gave all glory and honor to the Lord.  Miss Molly’s prayers and faith resonate and radiates so deeply to others.  The lessons that Miss Molly doles out to her family are lessons that we can all learn from.  Miss Molly’s life of servitude in glorifying God and leading others to Him is inspirational.  Molly Bruno illustrated how when we reach out to the Lord with our whole hearts and pray and submit all to Him; His love for us will shine through.  Molly Bruno used her life to show others that God loves them.

I recommend this book very much to everyone.  Molly Bruno’s faith and encouragement is a wonderful example for all.  I can say, on a personal level, I read this book during a difficult time in my own life and Molly Bruno’s resounding message that God Loves Us was very comforting and encouraging to me.  Her words are a great reminder that whatever we are going through, the Lord is with us, listening to us at all times.

Book Review: Unashamed: Drop the Baggage, Pick Up Your Freedom, Fulfill Your Destiny

Unashamed:  Drop the Baggage, Pick Up Your Freedom, Fulfill Your Destiny

Author:  Christine Caine
Publisher:  Zondervan
Pages:  224
Audience:  Women
Genre:  Christian Life/Spiritual Growth

Shame.  It is a powerful and all-encompassing feeling that can hold us captive and impact our lives so completely and negatively.  Shame is the topic of Christine Caine’s newest book.

Christine Caine discusses very candidly about her experiences with shame and how it affected her life.  She also discusses how her decision to follow God changed these shame messages.  Christine Caine details how God delivered her from the feeling of shame and gave her a new, God-given vision for her life.  Mrs. Caine details how we can overcome these shameful messages in our lives, by depicting the ways in which God worked in her.

Christine Caine writes about how shame keeps us from trusting God and others, and she reveals the truth, God did not create us to live a life of slavery.  God is light, let Him in because He will love you and chase that darkness of shame away.

The message in this book will positively impact your life.  Christine Caine is real and relatable.  This book made a wonderfully positive impact on my life and I feel it would make one for everyone who reads it.
